These are the questions owners ask when they want AI help without becoming the AI project. Honest about fit, control, time, and what happens after launch.
Free 15 minutes · No technical prep
You do not need an AI strategy or a preferred tool before the first conversation.
No. Bring one part of the week that feels slow, repetitive, frustrating, or easy to drop. The free assessment is designed to help you decide whether AI belongs there and what the next step should be.
We focus on one workflow or recurring problem, walk through the last real example, and talk about time, service impact, judgment, and information. You leave with a plain-language recommendation for that specific work: buy an existing product, improve the process, explore a tailored system, or leave that item alone for now. It is not a full audit, written roadmap, system demo, or forced sales pitch.
Then we say so for that specific workflow. A useful first conversation can recommend an existing product, a process change, a deeper audit, or leaving that item alone while you focus elsewhere. We will not invent a project just to create one.
You can keep using it for drafting and individual productivity. Northern Logic is for the next layer: choosing the right job, teaching a system from your real work, connecting approved tools, setting review boundaries, and keeping it useful after launch. Customers pay for diagnosis, implementation, and accountability, not access to a model.
Your job is to know the business: how the work happens, who judges the result, and what good looks like. You do not need to select models, write technical requirements, or operate the underlying system. If we cannot explain the recommendation in plain language, we have not done our job.
The best first engagement is narrow enough to understand, test, and manage.
Founder-led or owner-operated service and operations businesses with repeated work across email, documents, meetings, and business tools. The strongest fit is a company that can name an owner for the first workflow, start narrow, and keep people at consequential decisions.
Buyers looking for a fully autonomous system with no process owner, no representative examples, no human review, or guaranteed results before discovery. It is also a poor fit if the goal is only the cheapest tool install, or if nobody can show how the work actually happens today.
That is not the goal. We hand off selected, repeatable work so your people can spend more time on judgment, customers, leadership, and the parts of the job that need them. An “AI employee” is a managed system with a defined job, not a legal employee or a headcount substitute.
It can be all three, in separate steps. The free assessment and paid audit help you decide. Implementation builds a managed AI employee, workflow, or knowledge system. AI Concierge and Managed Support keep the live system monitored, corrected, and useful as the business changes.
Yes. If an existing product solves that problem well enough, that is the recommendation for that opportunity. A custom build should earn its complexity. Some ideas are better fixed with a process change first, and some can wait while higher-priority work comes first.
People keep authority over consequential work. Access and review rules are defined before launch.
Only inside the boundaries you approve. Customer-facing, financial, legal, access, and other high-impact actions can remain subject to human review. Before launch, everyone should know what the system may do, what it may not do, and which outputs need a person.
We test on representative work, define review points, monitor issues, and correct the system. Work with a high consequence of error should stay under human approval. Your business remains responsible for customer commitments; our job is to reduce avoidable mistakes and make ownership clear.
Relationship judgment, pricing, final commitments, conflict, sensitive communication, policy exceptions, and other decisions where the cost of being wrong is high. AI is usually strongest on preparation, checking, drafting, routing, summarizing, and consistent follow-through.
Access is scoped to the approved job, tools, and information. We do not assume every email, note, or file should become permanent company knowledge. Data handling, accounts, retention, and offboarding are documented for the actual engagement. See Security & Data for the public principles.
Every engagement names a business owner for the result and a Northern Logic owner for the system. Issues, corrections, and next actions should be visible in the shared client hub, not left as “somebody will look at it.”
We start from the way your team already works, then decide what is worth changing.
Often, yes. We begin with your current workflow and systems. Fit depends on access, data quality, and risk. We confirm those constraints before promising an integration or a build.
No. The free assessment needs no system access. An audit usually starts with interviews, walkthroughs, and representative examples. Implementation access is limited to what is necessary and approved for the scoped job.
More than zero, less than a large IT project. Someone who knows the work needs to walk through real examples, answer questions, review early output, and make timely decisions. We keep the first scope narrow so the time ask stays practical.
One accountable business owner, access to the people doing the work, representative examples, timely feedback, approved access to necessary tools and information, and a willingness to start narrow. You do not need an AI strategy or preferred model beforehand.
Then we improve the process before asking AI to perform it. Automation should not preserve unnecessary steps just because they exist today. If the work cannot be shown with examples and judgment points, it is not ready for a reliable build.
Plain-language answers about what the system does, without the technical stack.
A managed AI system with a defined job, its own dedicated work environment, approved tools, company knowledge and examples, useful memory for that work, clear review boundaries, and ongoing Northern Logic management. It is a way to make the offer concrete, not a claim that software is a person.
A chatbot mostly waits for a prompt and answers in a conversation. A managed AI employee or workflow is taught a specific job, can work with approved business tools, and can follow agreed routines. The point is completed work inside your operation, not another chat window your team has to babysit.
Fixed automation is strong when the steps are stable and the inputs are predictable. AI-assisted work is useful when the inputs are messy, the process needs judgment within rules, or the system must use company examples and context. Many engagements combine both: simplify the process, then automate only what should run reliably.
No. We design useful memory around approved context for the job. Scope, retention, and review are defined per engagement. The goal is continuity that helps the work, not an uncontrolled archive of everything.
We prefer to work with approved tools your team already uses when that is practical. Sometimes that means direct connections; sometimes it means working through the same interfaces people use. We confirm fit before making a commitment. Changing systems is a last resort, not the default pitch.
Launch reveals what a demo cannot. Someone has to stay responsible as tools and work change.
Monitoring, issue review, routine corrections, working sessions, maintenance, and an agreed allowance for new capability. Every managed agreement also defines supported systems, response expectations, exclusions, and escalation. Managed does not mean unlimited work.
That is normal after launch. Northern Logic can monitor the system, support users, make corrections, and keep a visible improvement backlog. The shared client hub should show what changed, what each side owns, and what comes next.
Possibly. We first review the system, access, documentation, risks, and whether it is supportable. If it cannot be operated safely or clearly, we will say so before taking responsibility for it.
Adoption fails when the system asks people to change too much or when nobody owns the result. We design the first job around real work, teach from operator examples, keep review points clear, and start narrow. If the team will not use it, that is a signal to revise or pause, not to expand.
Only after evidence from the first one. Expansion should wait until the current role is being used, the owner can judge the output, current issues are understood, and the next need is clear. Enthusiasm is not enough.
Every paid step should be valuable on its own, with a clear decision before you move on.
The 15-minute AI Mini-Assessment is free. Paid audits, implementations, and managed support are scoped after we understand the problem, systems, risk, and support required. Work is fixed or bounded before it begins. Public starting prices are published only after delivery patterns are proven.
Because the first job is clarity, not a project sale. Fifteen minutes is enough to test whether there is a practical opportunity and what the buyer should do next, including handling it themselves.
No. It is a paid, standalone decision package. You leave with a ranked opportunity map, a recommended first move, and guidance on the best path for each idea: buy, improve, build, handle internally, or leave that item alone for now. Implementation with Northern Logic is a separate choice.
We look at frequency, business impact, friction, information readiness, judgment needs, consequence of error, and how easy the result is to measure. That scoring helps rank what deserves attention first. Estimates show their assumptions. Time returned is not presented as cash savings unless the business can actually reduce cost or redeploy capacity.
Your skepticism is earned. Protect yourself with a narrow first scope, named owners, clear review boundaries, visible deliverables, and a decision to revise or pause based on real use. We would rather keep a weak idea off the build list than create another unused system.
