A focused role with defined responsibilities is more useful than a long list of disconnected possibilities. Clarity makes the system easier to trust, teach, and improve.
Use the company’s context
Useful AI comes from the company’s real documents, examples, decisions, tools, and operating knowledge. Generic answers can only take a business so far.
Keep people in control
Customer communication, financial decisions, legal matters, system access, and other consequential actions should remain subject to clear human review. The customer sets those boundaries.
Stay after launch
AI systems need monitoring, correction, support, and improvement. We treat them as part of the operation, not one-time software projects.
Built with responsibility
Access to the business should be earned.
AI becomes genuinely useful when it can work with company email, documents, meetings, customer information, internal systems, and business processes. That access also creates responsibility.

Logan Abell is the founder of Northern Logic and a cybersecurity engineer with nearly a decade of IT experience, including service working on IT systems in the U.S. Air Force.
He holds the CISSP and CompTIA Security+ certifications. His background spans cybersecurity engineering, IT operations, automation, security compliance, and the practical work of introducing new systems into established environments.
Logan is also a cofounder of Prospector Security, a cybersecurity and compliance company that works with small businesses supporting the Department of Defense. His work includes helping companies understand cybersecurity requirements, prepare for CMMC, implement technical controls, and turn complex standards into systems people can actually operate.
That experience has shaped Northern Logic’s approach to AI. New technology only matters when it fits the business, protects the information it touches, and has someone accountable for keeping it useful. Logan brings an operator’s perspective to that work because he has dealt with the same constraints Northern Logic’s clients face: limited time, scattered information, overloaded people, security requirements, and too many tools that do not quite work together.
A native Vermonter, Logan values practical work, plain language, and long-term relationships. Northern Logic reflects that same mindset. Make sensible promises, build what the business actually needs, and stick around to make sure it works.
